Some recent character concept sketches made with Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. The top right image was made on a Sony Vaio Fit 15 / Flip PC. The rest of the images were created on an iPad 3.

I’m trying to get better at hard surface modelling in ZBrush 4R6. This is a WIP using insert mesh brushes and various curve and trim brushes. Rendered out in Marmoset Toolbag 2.0 for the most part with the 3/4 view image rendered in Modo for comparison.

Here’s something I’m currently working using the new ZBrush 4R6 update. I really like the remesher function as it allowed me to retopologize an older unoptimized mesh and convert it a full quad version. This is about 60% done. After I figure out the overall muscle structure of the top of the head and rear areas, smaller details will be put in and then finally textured. Stay tuned.

Here are some recent works that were posted on Instagram and Tumblr that finally made it’s way on this blog. The first image is something I’m hoping to finish soon in Photoshop that was started a while back. The rest of the images are quick speedpaintings done on the iPad before falling asleep at night.

The image on the left was done during lunch on Photoshop on the Cintiq. The image on the right was done on the iPad using Sketchbook Pro before going to bed a couple of days ago. Both took about 30 min.
